Fabricating a final hybrid
Have a provisional built
A provisional is an extra investment in a fixed case but if used right this will be an invaluable step. The provisional can be set to all the basic parameters for the final prosthesis. Things like vertical demention, tooth display, mid line, and so on. Then the provisional is used to pre-set those outlines for the final.
An accurate final impression
This is critical! The impression must be accurate. There are different methods to taking a final impression.... Do you use closed tray or open tray impression copings? Do you lud the impression copings togehter or do build a vertication jig or both? With the help of Dr. Kelly we have developed a method that not only takes less chair time without skipping step but is also more accurate! Give Nick a call and he can fill you in on our method (509) 475-0777

verification and vertical
Verification of an accurate final impression is the more obvious of the two. We fabricate several different verication jigs, each tailored to the case at hand. Vertical measurement is too often overlooked. This is much more then just a bite-block. When measurements are taken properly, the measure to can be used all through out the case from teeth extractions to seat of the final hybrid. You can actually be confident that the vertical was preserved at your desired opening.
Wax try-in
You can actually try in the teeth. When doing a try in it is important to look for things like vertical opening, tooth display, shade/shape of teeth, mid-line, plane of occlusion, and so on. Remember where the teeth are at in the try in is where they will end up in the final prosthetic.

Seating the final prosthetic
The final seat! Seating the final should be the easy and straight forward. The final prosthetic always comes with new screws and should seat fully and easily with little adjustments to the bite. Remember that most implant systems screws only torque to 15 ncm. Seal the screw access holes with a rubber base impression material for at least one week to make sure the patient is comfortable then after that you ban seal the screw access hole with whatever material you prefer, the most common are impression material, acrylic, composite, ferment, cavity or if you prefer some other material.
