What is Valplast?
Vaplast is a nylon flexable partial. Unlike traditional acrylic partials that require metal clasps to help keep the partial in place, valpast is a semi-transparent, pink colored material that is not only used for the base of the partial but also the clasps. This way, valplast clasps blend in with the natural tissue of the patient.
Advantages to Valplast
Aesthetics! Where higher aesthetics are required, valplast maybe the answer you've been looking for. When metal clasps are not exceptable, valplast is always a good choice. We carefully place the valplast in the undercuts of the natural teeth to help with retaining the partial but also giving the valplast a tissue like apperance instead of a "clasp like apperance". By shaping the valplast clasp to the contour of the tooth, just like natural tissue, valplast clasps "disapear". These clasps blend in with the natural tissue so well, that when the patient smiles, no clasps are evident. Studies have also shown and this fact is well documented.....metal clasps abrade tooth enamel and cause tooth failure. Valplast is a much gentlure material on the natural remaining theeth. Vaplast vs tooth colored clasps... Becasue tooth colored clasps are difficult to match in shade to natural dentition, this gives the clasped tooth an odd and bulky appearance. In contrast, vaplast only covers the desired amount of the natural teeth and is designed to mimmic tissue. Hence, valplast is the clear winner!
The Golden standard
Not all valplast partials are built equally. We take pride in fabricating the best valplast partials there are. When fabricating our valplast, we always have the dentist and patient in mind. Aesthetics and function for the patient, and easy to seat partial for the doctor. After all, if you had to wear a partial, would you choose something that functions great and looks natural?
